The Cozy Corner - A 2BR Retreat

This place has a lot of potential to be cute and clean. However, it has rats and millipedes…To make it brief - the flooring had holes in it which were covered over with throw rugs. The floor was slippery and dirty upon arrival and moldy bread was in the cupboard as well. Bathroom sink was dirty. While I could have overlooked these things, then the door lock stopped working and my husband tried for an hour to troubleshoot it. The host did respond and sent someone late in the day to install a new lock, which was a relief as we had relocated our valuables to our vehicle in the meantime. I give the host credit for doing this in a timely manner. If you need to do laundry, I would not recommend this place as the washer and dryer are in the basement which requires going down extremely steep stairs with no hand rail. Again I could have overlooked this if I didn’t need laundry machines - but I did, so I did the treacherous dive down the stairs. Honestly, - and I communicated ALL of this to the host - this looks like a liability to me. The morning of our scheduled departure, we saw two separate rats. One gray, one more of a charcoal/black, the size of two fists each. Of course I again communicated this to the host and the essence of his reply was - Sorry about that. Please leave us a good review. Check in was easy and quick. Host responded timely Kitchen was ok - we didn’t cook though. Fridge worked fine.

This was the perfect spot for my family to stay at for Christmas. The hosts do such a good job loved the little details and the cleanliness of the property.

Overall great stay. Enjoyed the location of the house, and how close it was downtown. Might be too small for more than 2 poeple. Overall would stay again.

We came up for the weekend with some friends and were just looking for a nice and clean two-bedroom place to crash at night. We got an absolutely adorable house with two of the comfiest beds that absolutely met our needs. Not only was this a great in-between location from different parts of the city, but having our own house versus an apartment or hotel meant we were able to be more relaxed as we caught up at night. Thankful for how communicative the owners were and how quick they were to answer all my questions and help out. I definitely recommend this place for a cute, quick stay with 4 individuals or under!
